Luxury: Under Canvas Acadia

This tented camp is about 30 minutes from Acadia National Park and is designed for those seeking ultimate luxury. This place is the ‘ultimate glamping’ experience – you don’t even need your own tent.

Here you will find options of tents, deluxe tents, stargazer tents with or without kids options, and tents with a private bathroom starting at around $370.

This spot also has special on-site activities, such as live music/performances, yoga classes, evening entertainment, cycling, hiking, canoeing, and fishing.

Mid-Range: Blackwoods Campground

Personally, this was our favorite campsite for its ideal location. Beautifully situated on the Maine coast of the stunning Acadia National Park, Mount Desert Island, these campgrounds are primarily for small and large tents, with limited RV availability.

Picturesque walks, informational talks, hikes, narrated boat cruises, and more can be organized from this spot. As well as opportunities to enjoy some biking.

There are lakes for kayaking and canoeing and a 27-mile historic loop road offering the perfect views.

Budget: Seawall Campgrounds, Acadia National Park

The western side is the most peaceful when looking for extra quiet. This is where the lovely back-to-nature type campsite can be found. Here you’ll discover walk-to tent sites and regular campsites or RV sites.

As with Blackwoods, fee-shower facilities are nearby, and flush toilets, running water, picnic tables, and fire rings are available.

At Seawall Campground, every site is wooded, and it’s only a short walk from the ocean’s beautiful waters and lovely hiking trails.

On this side of the island, you’ll enjoy nature via peaceful hiking routes and Echo Lake, an excellent lake for swimming, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, and picnics.
